Scottie Scheffler regained the Green Jacket as he won the Masters Tournament at Augusta by four strokes on Sunday (14 April).

Leading by one going into the final round, the 2022 champion was tied with playing partner Collin Morikawa, Max Homa and major tournament debutant Ludvig Åberg after a second bogey of the day on the seventh.

But the world's number one golfer showed his famed brilliance from tee to green as he birdied the next three holes - including almost holing his approach at the ninth - to move clear of his rivals.

And double bogeys for Morikawa on nine, Homa on 10, and Åberg on 11 handed the Dallas-based star a comfortable advantage.

After dropping a shot at the 11th, Scheffler birdied the par-five 13th to go three clear before Åberg's second consecutive birdie at 14 closed the gap to two.

Another superb short iron from Scheffler gave him a tap-in for birdie on 14 to restore his three-shot lead. And a two at the short 16th all but settled the outcome of the 88th Masters.

A masterful up-and-down from off the 18th green saw him card a 68 to finish on 11-under, four clear of the Swede, as he scored his second major triumph with wife Meredith expecting their first child this month.

Morikawa, Homa and Tommy Fleetwood were tied for third on four-under.

Rory McIlroy's quest for his missing major continues as he finished tied for 22nd on four-over.

Last year's champion Jon Rahm shot 76 to end the tournament on nine-over in a share of 45th. Five-time champion Tiger Woods took 77 to finish last of those who made the halfway cut on 16-over.
