Six years on from the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, breaking is making its Olympic Games debut at Paris 2024.
32 B-Boys and B-Girls will compete for the sport’s inaugural title at La Concorde on 9 and 10 August at one of the most iconic spots in the City of Light.
The breaking event is not for the light-hearted, with four rounds of competition all being held in a single day in slightly more than five hours.
It starts with a round-robin of four groups of four followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and the medal battles.

Breaking stars to watch at Paris 2024 Olympics
The men’s event will be tight with nearly half the field capable of stepping onto the podium.
The gold medal is widely expected to come from world champion Victor, former world champion Phil Wizard or Asian champion Shigekix. The trio have been pushing each other at the major international competitions, and we are about find out who will have the last laugh.
Don’t count out crowd favourite Dany Dann from the hosts, Shigekix’s compatriot Hiro10, the mercurial Amir as well as continental medallists Lithe-Ing, Hongten and Jeffro.
The battle among B-Girls should be a closer contest, with Japan’s Ami and Ayumi, world champion Nicka and 671 of the People’s Republic of China set to vye for the penthouse view of the podium.
