Włodzimierz Krygier competed in the 1928 and 1932 Winter Olympic tournaments, the 1930 and 1931 World Championships, and the 1927 and 1929 European Championships. In 1929, he won a silver medal at the Europeans, adding another one in 1931, when the Europeans were part of the World Championships. In total, the forward played 35 international matches, scoring four goals. In 1928 he played on a winning World Students’ Championship team. With AZS Warszawa Krygier won the 1929 and 1930 Polish Championships. He also played for Polonia and WTL Warszawa. Originally, he played football as a left-winger, initially in his hometown of Dnipropetrovsk and from 1920-29 for various clubs in Warszawa, for several years in the 1st Polish League.

In 1919, Krygier fought against the Bolsheviks on the Lithuanian-Belarussian front. In 1926, he graduated with a law degree from Warszawa University and then worked as a lawyer. When Germany attacked Poland in 1939, Krygier left Warszawa and went to Lviv, and then via Romania to France. There, he joined the defense forces and, after the fall of France, was evacuated to the UK. As a liaison officer in a repatriation camp in Germany, he founded the Polonia football team. After World War II, Krygier lived in London working for a publishing firm.
