Witalis Ludwiczak won the national championship in 1934 with the team of AZS Poznań. He represented his country in 47 international matches scoring three goals. In addition to the two Olympic Games, he played five World Championship tournaments (1933, 1935, 1937-1939). In 1933, he was also Polish Champion in rowing in the coxless fours. He served as a long-term president of his club AZS Poznań. He survived the World War II as a prisoner of war in the officers' camp II C near Woldenburg, where he took part in the POW-Olympics in 1944. In 1955 he coached the national team. He then became a university lecturer for law and a judge in Poznań writing more than 60 scientific publications.
