个人信息

Takamura Kodama studied painting at the Hongo Painting Institute in Tokyo. Although printing seems to be self-taught, he won first prize for his woodcut Bon'odori (Bon dance) at the 8th Emperor Exhibition in 1927. In the following years he was awarded additional prizes at the Japanese Sōsaku Hanga (creative prints) Society and again at the Emperor Exhibition. He exhibited with the Nihon Hanga Kyôkai throughout the 1930s, and contributed to Hanga and Kitsutsuki (Woodpecker) magazines in 1930 and 1931, respectively. He submitted his prints Rugby to the Los Angeles and Jump to the Berlin Olympic art competition. The last known information about him is that he lived in Yodobashi (now part of Nishi-Shinjuku), Tokyo in 1936.
