个人信息

Martin Stixrud, the Olympic bronze medalist in 1920, had a long career as a figure skater, but emerged late as a champion. He was 37 when he won his first National Championship in 1913, but then he won nine championships in a row from 1916-24. He was also Nordic champion in 1919 and 1921, and won a silver medal at the European Championships in 1923. Stixrud was 44-years-old when he won his Olympic medal, being the second oldest person ever to win an Olympic medal in an individual Olympic winter sport, 107 days younger than Great Britain’s Geoffrey Hall-Say when he won his figure skating bronze medal at London in 1908. Stixrud, who worked for the national Norwegian railway company until his retirement, was engaged as a coach for Sonja Henie for a period.
