María Isabel Urrutia finished fourth (discus throw) and seventh (shot put) at the 1987 Pan American Games. Four years later she finished fifth (discus throw) and sixth (shot put) at the 1991 Pan American Games. At the 1995 Pan American Games she again finished fourth in discus throw.
