个人信息

Lucy Harris was one of the first great female centers in the United States. She attended Delta State University, where she was a consensus All-American in her junior and senior years (1975-76), and led her team to three straight AIAW national championships. In her senior year she averaged 31 points and 15 rebounds a game, including a high of 58 points vs. Tennessee Tech. Combining beauty with athletic skill, she also was named homecoming queen at Delta State in 1975. Lucy Harris played on the 1975 Pan American Games (winning gold) and 1977 Universiade (winning silver) team in addition to the Olympic team. After graduating from college, she was drafted by the New Orleans Jazz of the NBA, although she did not make a serious effort to make the team. She played one year of pro basketball in the WBL but her career was interrupted by pregnancy. Later, as Mrs. George Stewart, she became admissions counselor and assistant basketball coach at Delta State.
