个人信息

Belgian architect Louis Stynen received an Honorable Mention at the 1932 Art Competitions in Los Angeles for his work At the Finishing Line in the category Sculpturing, Statues. He studied architecture from 1926-31 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerpen, and then until 1933 at the Academy of Fine Arts. Stynen was the son of a sculptor and ornamentalist.

Stynen was commissioned in 1928 to design a Casino for Knokke and Chaudfontaine. These projects were a testament to his love for the nascent modernity movement. He was also heavily involved in Belgian architectural education. After World War II, Stynen first reorganized the architecture education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerpen, and then became assistant director of the Department of Architecture and also founded an independent institute.
