个人信息

John Stollmeyer played college soccer at Indiana University from 1982-86, helping them win NCAA titles in 1982 and 1983. In 1982 he was the NCAA Defender of the Year. He also played for the USA at the 1981 FIFA World Youth Championships. After college Stollmeyer signed with the Cleveland Force of the Major Indoor Soccer League, playing with them from 1986-88. He then played one year with the Arizona Condors in the Western Soccer League, and played part of a season with the Washington Stars before retiring in 1990. Stollmeyer had very poor luck as a pro, as each of his three teams folded, forcing him to find new teams.

Stollmeyer was on the US National Team from 1986-90, earning 31 international caps. He played at both the 1987 Pan American Games and the 1990 FIFA World Cup. After leaving the pitch he was an assistant coach briefly at Notre Dame but then settled in Indianapolis, where he worked as a vice-president for Raymond James, a financial services company.
