Jeff Kirk was runner-up in the 1948 NCAA 400 hurdles for Penn, and placed third at the 1948 Olympic Trials. He graduated from Penn in 1949 and later competed for the Philly Collegiate T&F Club. In World War II Kirk was a conscientious objector but served in India, without seeing combat. He received a doctorate in education from Temple University. He became a professor of education at Lehigh University and then Adelphi University. Kirk died after a short battle with acute leukemia.
