个人信息

Javelin thrower Jacqueline Todten won the silver medal at the 1972 München Olympics close behind her teammate Ruth Fuchs, and placed an unfortunate fourth as Jacqueline Hein four years later in Montréal, after marrying shot putter and non-Olympian Siegbert Hein. The couple later divorced. In 1974 she again won a silver medal at the European Championships, also behind Fuchs, who set a world record with 67.22. In 1970 Todten-Hein was European Youth Champion. Domestically she was East German Champion in 1974, and was runner-up in 1971-73. In 1973 she set a world record with 63.14. Her uncle Günther Kunert, who was a well-known writer and poet in the former GDR, wrote the poem Javelin thrower for her.

After her athletic career Todten-Hein studied education and worked in Berlin's Pankow District with the reintegration of dismissed offenders.

Personal Best: JT – 64.34 (1974).
