个人信息

German literate Hermann Roßmann studied theology and philosophy in Berlin and Marburg. After completing his education, he was active in Berlin as a commercial writer, and then in Tyrol as a freelance writer. Roßmann developed himself from a narrator to an author of stage and radio plays, and then became a film author. He was awarded the Gold Medal at the 1936 Paris World Exhibition for his film Masks. Until World War II, he frequently traveled throughout Europe, Asia, America and North Africa. In World War II he fought on the Eastern Front and was taken prisoner by the Russians.

His early literary works were novels and short stories, including the fantastic stories Klas der Fisch (Claus the fish), which was his entry for the 1936 art competitions. One of his early successes as a stage writer was Der Flieger (The Airman). After World War II, he focussed on dramatic works.
