Austrian Heinrich Rienössl was a civil servant, and part-time writer. In 1901 he founded the Viennese theater and literary publishing house, which, however, only existed for a short time. Interested in intellectual and cultural events of his time, Rienössl also took a keen interest in writing. He examined the values of his native city of Wien (Vienna) and its people, fought against prejudice, and criticized the emotionally-related weaknesses of the Viennese way of life. His work Der Nationalheld (The National Hero) was submitted together with Hans Naderer for the 1936 Berlin Art Competitions.
