Heather Pease Olson was a synchronized swimmer who competed in the team event at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, winning gold with the US team in 1996. As Heather Pease, she swam at Stanford, where she won NCAA titles in the solo, trio, and figures in 1997, and in the solo, duet, trio, and figures in 1998. She was named an All-American both years.

Pease Olson later became a coach of synchronized swimming, serving first as a volunteer assistant coach at Stanford, and later as their head coach. She was named the national team director for USA Synchronized Swimming in 2001.
