个人信息

As the East German national team won the inter-national qualification matches in 1963 against the West German amateur national team by a 3-0 win in Leipzig and a 2-1 loss in Hannover, the German Olympic team at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics was an East German one. The team won the bronze medal, beating Egypt, 3-1.

Goalkeeper Jürgen Heinsch started his soccer career in 1955 with SC Empor Rostock, renamed 10 years later to FC Hansa Rostock. From 1958-71 he appeared in 176 matches in the East German Oberliga, was assigned to 22 cup matches, and played two Inter-Cities Fairs Cup matches in 1969-70.

With the former GDR national team Heinsch earned seven international caps and played 15 matches with the East German Olympic team. After his retirement he became a graduate sports teacher and was employed by Hansa Rostock as an assistant coach from 1972-78 and 1979-81, and as head coach in 1978-79, 1981-85, and finally from 1993-94. Heinsch later became youth coach and chief scout for the Bundesliga team after German reunification. In 2008 he was elected as a board member of his club.
