Harry von Rochow was an active officer in the Royal Prussian Army and a rider. He earned the silver medal in the individual part of the three-day-event at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics on his horse Idealist, also adding silver in the team event.
Von Rochow served during World War I in the cavalry and was severely wounded by a lunge shot. He was transported to a Russian military hospital and eventually to a POW camp, from which he fled. In 1919 he inherited his family’s property Gut Reckahn in Brandenburg and worked in horse breeding.
