个人信息

A member of the Winnipeg Winter Club, Audrey Garland found success at the regional junior level as early as 1929, and was partnered with Fraser Sweatman by 1930. They did not begin training together seriously until 1932, but managed to capture the national junior pairs title in 1934. The following year they attended their first senior-level championship and came in second behind long-time champions Bud Wilson and Constance Wilson-Samuel. This led to their selection for the 1936 Winter Olympics, where they finished 12th among 18 starters in the pairs event. Garland turned professional at the end of the year and accepted an offer to coach at the Quebec Winter Club. By 1944 she had married Larry Wray, an officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force. She died relatively young, aged only 56, while visiting the United States.
