He played table tennis until age 19, and took up wheelchair rugby in 2010 after he was no longer able to stand long enough to play table tennis. (ut-capitole.fr, 04 Apr 2016)
:
He discovered the sport during an exhibition at his rehabilitation centre. "I decided to begin the sport because of the commitment it demands, the chance of overcoming oneself, the strategy needed to beat your rival, the clash of chairs, the diversity of eligible impairments and the whole family of rugby. It's a sport that completely adapts to my functional capacities and it contributes to my physical shape and my daily independence." (asei.asso.fr, 01 Mar 2021; bleushandisport.com, 01 Jan 2021)

Impairment Details
At age 10 he was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which causes muscle weakness in his legs. He began using a wheelchair at age 19. (ut-capitole.fr, 04 Apr 2016)

General
CLASSIFICATION PROBLEMS
In 2012 he underwent a two-day classification test to determine whether he should compete as a 2.5 or 3.0 player. During the first day of the test he showed signs of mobility by walking unaided. However, the following day his mobility was limited due to muscle contractures, a result of his condition, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. He was accused of purposely providing misleading results, which led to him being excluded from participating at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. He also received a three-month suspension from competition, to which he appealed unsuccessfully. "Doctors, physiotherapists and osteopaths have not made the connection with my rare disease. What interest would I have had to cheat while my classification 2.5, 3.0 or 3.5 did not change anything for the team?" (ladepeche.fr, 01 Oct 2012)

FURTHER STUDIES
Alongside his bachelor's degree in management, he has also studied for qualifications in accounting from the Toulouse 1 Capitole University in France, and in real estate management from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse. (asei.asso.fr, 01 Mar 2021)
