Aside from Para athletics, she competes in cross-country running and wheelchair basketball. "I don't really stop training. I'm training or competing continuously throughout the seasons. FROM CHINA TO THE UNITED STATES
She was born in Suzhou, People's Republic of China, and was abandoned on the steps of a hospital as a young child. She was then placed in an orphanage. She was adopted by the family of a volunteer at the orphanage and initially lived in People's Republic of China with the family before they all moved to Spokane, WA, United States of America.
