"I started to swim at age three, later I continued swimming classes in primary school. When I attended primary school I trained many sports, including football, biathlon, fencing, taekwondo, but only in swimming I was involved since the beginning. I was the best in swimming and I decided that I want to focus on this sport." (team100.pl, 2020; bielanynastart.pl, 09 Mar 2016)

RETURN TO POLAND
In the 2018/19 season he moved to the United Stated of America to train and study at the University of Florida. After one year he decided to return to Poland and continue to train under the guidance of Pawel Wolkow. "Many swimming stars including Ryan Lochte and especially Kieran Smith attended their programme and I wanted to follow their way of success. I thought that it will be a perfect place for me and that it can be the best option to combine studies and swimming, having both at the top level. However, after one year there I didn't manage to qualify for the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, mainly due to the training programme in the United Stated. For me swimming for my country and representing Poland at major events is the priority, therefore I decided to return to Poland. I have also returned to my coach Pawel Wolkow and I decided to stay in Poland until the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, rescheduled to 2021. It's the most important event, maybe in my life. I want to be prepared perfectly and this I can achieve only with coach Wolkow who knows me as no one else in the world, he knows me perfectly and knows what I need to be in the best shape."
