General Interest

Her parents named her after the acronym for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration [NASA]. "The name was given to me in the hope that I would spread my wings and fly around the world with the hopes of accomplishing something that's never been done before." (asahi.com, 01 Oct 2016; city.kasama.lg.jp, 30 May 2018; lpga.com, 14 Apr 2021)

She credits the influence on her career of her mother Hiromi, who has been her caddie. "When I was an amateur, she caddied for me and also caddied at many professional events. She is the one who knows my golf as she has been looking at my game for a long time. I feel comfortable playing with her the most. When I go back to the hotel, I'm glad there is someone I can talk to and she cooks every meal considering a good nutritional balance. So, I really appreciate her. Without her support, I don't think I would have been able to perform that well." (city.kasama.lg.jp, 30 May 2018; lpga.com, 14 Apr 2021)
