BALANCING STUDIES AND TRACK
She studied neurobiology and global health at Harvard University in the United States of America. She gave up her last year of college eligibility in order to turn professional, but she still completed her degree in 2019. "[Track practice] is so mandatory. If you don't show up, it's a bigger deal than if you don't show up to class. The consequences are much worse. But the academic aspect of it was also very challenging and having the two together - I struggled a lot as a freshman. I don't know if I struggled more than anyone else, but personally, I didn't know if I could do it for the next four years. [The] opportunity [to turn pro] is hard to turn down. If you think about it, is it worth one more year being on the team? Will my value still be the same a year from now? Will I replicate that dream season I just had and have the same opportunities next year? These were all things I had to weigh." (gazettenet.com, 08 Oct 2018; flotrack.org, 30 Mar 2018)
