General Interest

He used the postponement of athletics events in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic to work on improving his technique and physical strength. "I was throwing only 18 metres in training because I was making sure that everything was set technically perfect and I have enough experience to know how to step up when it's time to compete. I have a technical flaw which means I'm not properly able to get the most out of my hip movement so, when I finally get everything sorted out technically, I should be able to throw much further. In general I am fast but, to improve my technique, I decided to slow everything down, because some time ago, the slower I was doing all the technical things right, the further I was able to throw. The COVID-19 pandemic actually came in handy for this, as there were no big events and I didn't have to strive for results. I have strengthened my legs, my upper body is also stronger, but in the bench press there is still a big gap between me and my rivals. Joe Kovacs uploaded a picture of him with 270 kilograms on the bar and he looked quite relaxed. My rivals are incredibly strong and I have to find a way to be stronger. But I may not need to, we'll see." (sport.pl, 17 Sep 2020)
