For the Yamanashi Prefecture Paralympic Flame Festival, flame lighting will be carried out in five locations throughout the prefecture, after which flames will be gathered to the prefectural government building before being sent out to all 27 cities, towns and villages throughout the prefecture. The Olympic flame will then be put on display, before again being gathered to the prefectural government building and departing for Tokyo, the host city.
Pilot flames, which will be lit in World Heritage Mt. Fuji, will be used for flame lighting in the Yamanashi Prefecture Welfare Plaza, and in Doshi Village, Yamanakako Village, Kosuge Village and Tabayama Village, which are combining to cheer on the Tokyo 2020 Games, with each village using their own unique method of flame lighting.
The flame will visit all cities, towns and villages throughout the prefecture so as to enable as many people as possible to see it.
