Regarding the Refund for the TOKYO 2020 Paralympic Tickets（Updated on 10 September 2021）
For details of the refund, please check the following notice in the Paralympic Games Official Ticket Website.
Games Tickets（Updated on 17 August 2021）
The decision was made at the Four-Party meeting held on 16 August that no spectators (except for those under the school programme) will be allowed for all the competitions.
According to such decision, no ticketholders other than those under the school programme will be allowed into all the Paralympic venues and all of such tickets will be refunded. We regret for all the applicable ticket purchasers that this measure had to be put in place, though it is a critical measure to prevent the infection spread.
With regard to the school programme, given that the Tokyo 2020 Games are very important in helping us realise a more inclusive society, safety measures will be taken in order to facilitate spectating in cases where local authorities or school administrations request this in response to the wishes of parents and others.
Tokyo 2020 will continue to do its best for holding the Games which are safe and secure for athletes, as well as for delivering the Paralympic Games to people in Japan and elsewhere in the world, in light of the educational significance of a positive power of sports and Paralympic among other things.
Games ticket (updated on 9 July 2021)
While the Five-Party Meeting on 21 June decided that “the policy for the Paralympic Games will be decided by 16 July, one week before the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games“, the Meeting on 8 July further decided that “the decision regarding the admission of Paralympic event spectators will now be taken when the Olympic Games end, as it will now be necessary to make a decision based on the infection situation prevailing at the time”.
Accordingly, result announcement of lottery/start of home print ticket issuance/application for voluntary refund, scheduled for Friday, 16 July, have been postponed.
Details will be announced including on Tokyo 2020 Official Website as they are determined.
Overseas Spectators at Tokyo 2020 Games（updated on 22 March 2021)
At the five-party discussion held on March 20, a policy on entry of the overseas Games spectators into Japan was determined.
Currently, the situation of COVID-19 in Japan and many other countries around the world continues to be very challenging, including the emergence of mutant strains, whilst international travel remains severely restricted globally, the parties on the Japanese side have come to the conclusion that overseas ticket holders will not be able to enter Japan at the time of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The handling policy and process of those tickets which were purchased from NOCs/NPCs or the Authorised Ticket Resellers(ATR) in the various territories, including refund, will be announced and taken care of by them. Please contact NOC/NPC or ATR of the respective territory for more information or inquiry.
