Tokyo 2020 women's handball final day: ROC and France go for gold in Rio rematch

The Women's Handball bronze (Norway v. Sweden) and gold-medal match (ROC v. France) take place on day 16 of action at Yoyogi National Stadium on 8 August 2021.

What’s happening ?

The day has finally arrived to find out who will stand on the podium for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic women's handball. The day gets underway at 11:00 (local time) with the bronze-medal match between Norway and Sweden.

That will then be followed by the gold-medal match which will get underway from 15:00 (local time) and see Team ROC and France go for the big prize.

France are reigning world champions and they won the silver in Rio in 2016. They will put their faith in top players like Grace Zaadi and goalkeeper Cleopatre Darleux as they try to avenge their loss in the gold-medal match from Rio against the same ROC team. The ROC's top player to watch will be Anna Vyakhireva.

In the match for bronze, there will be a place on the podium and local Scandinavian bragging rights on the line when Sweden and Norway meet on the court.
