Sweden become Olympic champions in tense final jump off, with the United States claiming silver and Belgium bagging bronze.

To the musical notes of Mamma Mia, Sweden's trio of riders and horses – Henrik von Exckermann on King Edward, Malin Baryard-Johnsson on Indiana and Peder Fredricson on All In – celebrated winning a dramatic jump off in the team showjumping final at the Equestrian Park.

They beat the United States threesome of Laura Kraut on Baloutinue, Jessica Springsteen on Don Juan van de Donkhoeve and McLain Ward on Contagious by just 1.3 seconds in the jump off after all six riders went clear.

European champions Belgium won bronze. Team GB pulled out after recognising they would be unable to challenge for a medal.
