Биография

Valeri KAMENSKY

Valery Kamensky began his hockey career with Khimik Voskresensk in 1982 and joined CSKA Moskva in 1985, playing there until 1991. With CSKA Moskva Kamensky won four Soviet titles in a row (1986-89) and six consecutive European Champions Cup titles (1985-90). Kamensky was selected as MVP at the 1991 Soviet Championships and was selected on the best line at the Soviet Championships in 1988 and 1990-91. In 1991 Kamensky joined the Quebec Nordiques and played there for the next eight seasons, although the club became the Colorado Avalanche in 1995. With the Avalanche Kamensky won a Stanley Cup in 1995-96. In 1999 Kamensky joined the New York Rangers, playing there until 2001 when he joined the Dallas Stars. Kamensky’s last NHL club was the New Jersey Devils and he finished his career in 2003-05, again with Khimik Voskresensk. Internationally, besides his two Olympic medals, Kamensky was World Champion three times (1986, 1989-0) and European champion four times (1986-87, 1989, 1991). He also won gold at the 1990 Goodwill Games, silvers at the 1987 World Championships, 1990 European Championships and 1987 Canada Cup, and a bronze at the 1991 World Championships.
