Биография

Police officer and middle- and long-distance runner Fritz Schaumburg finished fourth in the 1934 European Championships at 1,500 metres and 10th at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He also won 10 German titles over different distances. Schaumburg set several German records, including becoming the first German under 5:30 for 2,000 metres in 1935, and under 8:30 for the 3,000 in 1936. In 1946 Schaumburg was co-founder of the “Association of Former Athletes” and became press officer one year later.

Personal Best: 1500 – 3:53.2 (1937).
