Dorsa was born in the Islamic Republic of Iran and was introduced to badminton by her father when she was nine years old. She tried multiple sports but instantly fell in love with badminton. Her relationship with badminton changed when she started winning tournaments in her hometown of Tehran, and she started training seriously.
She left Iran at the age of fifteen due to safety concerns, together with her mother. Arriving in the UK after a difficult journey, she had to train in her apartment during the Covid-19 pandemic. Dorsa, who applied to be a part of the Refugee Athlete Scholarship programme, today resides in the UK, studying and training simultaneously to participate in the Olympic Games.
