Биография

Sprinter Anne Kroniger participated in the 1972 München and 1976 Montréal Olympics. In München she finished fifth in the 200, while in Montréal she was eliminated in the heats, but earned a silver medal with the sprint relay. She also placed fifth at the 1971 and sixth at the 1974 Europeans in the 200, winning a silver medal with the sprint relay at the 1976 Europeans. At the European Cup Kroniger placed fourth in the 200 and second with the relay in 1973, also finishing third with the relay in 1975. Indoors she won two silvers (1970-71) and one gold (1972) with the 4x1 lap relay at the European Championships. Kroniger won West German titles in the 200 in 1972-73, adding an indoor title in 1971.

Kroniger was educated as a bank clerk and married high jumper Walter Boller in 1977 but they later divorced. She was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf in 1976 and the Sports Badge of Rhineland Palatinate in 1977. In 1977 she admitted anabolic steroid abuse during her preparation for the 1976 Games, also noting that she had received the pills from national coach Wolfgang Thiele. From 1980-90 she coached gymnastics to youngsters between 6-11 years of age for the Turnerbund Germania in Neulußheim.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.33 (1976); 200 – 22.89 (1972).
