Javelin thrower Ameli Koloska finished seventh at the 1968 Mexico-City Olympics and was eliminated in the qualification four years later in München. At the European Championships she placed 11th in 1966, won a silver medal in 1971, and placed eighth in 1974. She competed at the European Cup in 1967, 1970, 1973 and 1975, placing second in 1967 and third in 1973. She won seven West German titles between 1967-74.
Koloska studied sports teaching. She was a very versatile sportswoman in her youth, involved in gymnastics, swimming, tennis and later also alpine skiing. She married non-Olympian javelin thrower Dieter Koloska and they emigrated to Canada after the 1972 Olympic Games.
