Биография

Alajos Kenyery (Kronberg) competed in swimming at the early age of 13. First in the colors of MTK and MÚE, and from 1909 onwards he was a MAFC competitor until the end of his career. In 1912, he broke the world record in the 400 freestyle. Kenyery participated at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics.

In 1912, MAFC and Kenyéry's mother founded the Kronberg trophy, which he won several times but unfortunately World War I interrupted his sports career. However, in the early 1920s he returned to sport and took up where he had stopped. He won five Hungarian championships in freestyle disciplines and broke the national record in the 50 and 100 metre freestyles in 1922. After finishing his sports career, Kenyery worked as an insurance secretary and entered the management of the Hungarian Swimming Federation.

Personal Bests: 100 freestyle – 1:04.0 (1922); 400 freestyle – 5:29.0 (1912).
