Биография

After winning a silver medal in the breaststroke at the 1924 Olympics, Agnes Geraghty of the Women’s Swimming Association of New York competed again at the 1928 Olympics. Although she made a substantial improvement on her time in Paris, she was eliminated in the semi-finals. Geraghty won a total of 10 AAU breaststroke titles and between 1924 and 1930 set world breaststroke records at every distance between 50 yards and 400 meters. As Mrs. Felix McAndrews, Geraghty later turned to coaching swimming, first at Jones Park and then for the South Shore Yacht Club in Freeport, Long Island.
