Besides his Olympic bronze in 1964, Stanislav Sorokin was Soviet champion three times in a row as a flyweight from 1963-65 and took bronzes at the Soviet Championships in 1961 and 1962. Sorokin also won a gold in flyweight at the 1963 World Army Championships. After finishing his boxing career in 1969, Sorokin worked as a boxing coach in his hometown Noginsk. Since 1994 an annual tournament has been held in his honor in Noginsk.
