Peter Schlickenrieder’s greatest sports moment was his silver medal run in the sprint competition at the 2002 Winter Olympics. His other major wins were two World Cup races and five German titles. Besides his sports career he studied economics and started a career as a television commentator for the German channel ARD. In 2005 Schlickenrieder became vice-president of the Deutscher Skiverband (DSV), and has written three books about training facilities for cross-country skiers and Nordic walkers.
