Biografia

Nat Bor was the Bay State's top amateur boxer in 1932 when he won the state and New England title and the national AAU championship as a lightweight. That year he also won his bronze medal in the Olympics. His amateur record was 90 wins and 5 losses, and he was never knocked out as an amateur. After the Olympics, Bor stayed in Los Angeles and fought for eight years (1932-40) as a professional with marginal success, compiling a record of 31 wins (21 by KO), 12 losses, and 4 draws. He joined the Marines during World War II and served as a boxing coach stationed at Paris Island. After the war, he returned to Massachusetts where he first worked as a foreman at the Eastern Sportswear Manufacturing Company and then opened the Olympic Dry Cleaners in 1948 in his hometown of New Bedford.
