Biografia

Milton Angier threw the javelin for the University of Illinois and the Illinois AC. He grew up in Beardstown, Illinois and often went for long hikes with his father. While hiking, Angier starting throwing many of the giant “horse weeds” that grew along the trail, which built up his arm for javelin throwing.

Angier was AAU champion in 1920-21 and finished third in 1917. The 1920 AAU Meet doubled as the Olympic Trials, which qualified Angier for the US team. Angier won the javelin at the Drake Relays in 1922-23. He later worked for Westinghouse in Toledo, Ohio for many years. Only a few months before his death, Angier was inducted into the Drake Relays Hall of Fame.
