Biografia

James Moore, whose second place in the 4,000 meter run enabled the U.S. to capture the silver medal in the team event at Tokyo, was one of America’s most consistent modern pentathlon performers ever. He was the first pentathlete to capture three U.S. Modern Pentathlon Association national titles (1963, 1964, 1968). At the Tokyo Olympics he finished sixth in the individual and in 1968, he was 11th. Moore was a career officer in the army attaining the rank of colonel before retiring in 1982. In Vietnam, he received four Bronze Stars. He was later a teacher at a Christian religious school.
