After placing second in the 1932 Olympic discus, Henri Laborde of Stanford took both the NCAA and the IC4A titles in 1933. Later that season, while on a European tour, he threw 165-3½ (50.38) in Dusseldorf, which was a career best for Laborde and the best throw in the world in 1933. LaBorde finished third at the AAU Meet for three consecutive years, 1932-34. He also competed in the shot put. His career was as a salesman for a soap manufacturer.
