Frode Sørensen’s appeared on the international stage in 1931, when he was national champion in Denmark and 10th in the road race at the World Championships. He won additional Danish Championships in 1932, 1935, 1936 and 1938. Sørensen achieved top 10 placings at the 1934 and 1935 World Championships. His greatest individual success came after his two Olympic appearances, when he won the silver medal in the amateur road race at the 1937 World Championships. From 1935-37 he was also Nordic Champion in the team time trial. In 1942 he turned professional and competed briefly for the German Presto team.
