Ed Teague was a staff sergeant in the US Air Force at the time he competed at the 1964 Olympics. He would later win the 1968 National Trophy Pistol Championship. He won three medals at the Pan American Games, a gold in team rapid-fire pistol in 1967, and bronzes in individual rapid-fire pistol in 1967 and team rapid-fire pistol in 1971. After leaving the Air Force, Teague joined the Arizona State Police Force, where he was known as one of the best combat action shooters, and later headed the SWAT team for the Arizona State Police.
