Charles Bouvier was an association football defender with Servette FC from 1922 through 1926 and, with them, won the top Swiss league twice, in 1925 and 1926. He also played for the Swiss national team during this period, earning five caps, and travelled to France as a reserve for the 1924 Summer Olympics, but did not participate in any of the matches. After retiring from football he had a second career in bobsledding and, alongside Joseph Beerli, Noldi Gartmann, and Pierre Musy, won a silver medal in the four-man competition at the 1935 World Championships. This quartet then travelled to the 1936 Winter Olympics, where they took gold in the same event. Bouvier was also seventh in the two-man with Reto Capadrutt, who had been part of the silver medal-winning four-man crew at the Games.
