Biografia

Andrey Anufriyenko had a promising junior career, culminating in 1989 junior world title. Débuting as a senior in 1991, he established himself as a decent allround skater, but never quite made the jump to the medals. Reaching the final distance on all of his major allround competitions, his best result was 6th at the 1995 Worlds and 7th at the 1996 Europeans. His best single distance was the 1,500 metres, as evidenced by a 2nd place in that distance at the 1994 World Allround, a 5th place in the 1994 Olympics and a bronze at the 1995 Oslo World Cup. Anufriyenko never won a title, placing second in the 1991 Soviet Allround Championships, gaining more silvers in 1992 (Sprint) and 1995 (Allround) at the Russian Championships. After retiring from speed skating in 2001, Anufriyenko was active as an ice hockey youth coach.

Personal Bests: 500 – 37.21 (1999); 1000 – 1:12.61 (1998); 1500 – 1:50.99 (1998); 5000 – 6:46.16 (1997); 10000 – 14:18.42 (1994).
