Biografia

Al Stiller started cycling in the late 1930s but saw his career interrupted by the war. In 1945 he enrolled at the University of Utah and became, in his words, “a bike bum and skier.” In 1947 he paid his own expenses to Europe and competed at the 1947 World Cycling Championships on the Parc des Princes velodrome, and spent five weeks racing in Paris. After the 1948 Olympics he returned to North America and his biggest road win was the 1954 Québec-Montréal race. He later competed briefly as a professional in six-day races in Madison Square Garden. Stiller ran a bike shop in Chicago from 1960-80.
