Do I need a COVID certificate to enter the Olympic Museum and the TOM Café?
According to the currently valid federal and cantonal guidelines, there is currently no certificate requirement.
Do masks have to be worn?
According to the currently applicable federal and cantonal guidelines, there is currently no obligation to wear a mask.
What protective measures have been introduced?
All protective measures are implemented in the museum in accordance with the recommendations of the Swiss Museums Association (AMS).
Do I have to reserve my visit in advance?
You don’t need to reserve your Olympic Museum visit in advance, but you can buy your tickets online or when you get there.
Guided tours and package reservations for groups do need to be booked in advance, however.
How long do you need for a visit?
The recommended visit time is two hours. And don’t forget to allow some extra time to check out TOM Shop and grab a bite to eat at TOM Café.
Are the audioguides free, and how many languages are available?
The audioguides are free and available in 9 languages, subject to stock availability. Audioguides are also available from your smartphone without downloading.
Is there a car park nearby ?
The Olympic Museum has ample provision for parking, with the “Port d’Ouchy”, underground car park in Ouchy, the Beau-Rivage Hotel car park, and pay-and-display on the Quai d’Ouchy and the Avenue de l’Elysée. Make sure you read the parking signs carefully!
Is there access for visitors with limited mobility/wheelchair users?
All areas of the Museum are accessible to wheelchair users.
Access is advised by the north entry, on the Avenue de l’Elysée, where there are two parking spaces for people with reduced mobility.
Is it possible to draw out money at the Museum?
A cash dispenser can be found on the ground floor in the Olympic Museum entrance hall.
Do you have smartphones charging stations ?
The Welcome desk provides a charger rental service.
Does the Olympic Museum have cloakrooms and a left-luggage room?
Two cloakrooms with left-luggage lockers are available on the ground and second floors of the Olympic Museum, next to the TOM Café.
Can I bring my dog into the Museum?
Dogs are not allowed at the Museum, except for guide dogs. However, dogs are allowed in the TOM Café.
Can I picnic at the Museum?
You are allowed to eat food and drink brought from outside on the first-floor terrace and in Olympic Park, but not inside The Museum itself. TOM Snack in the Park is open from May to October.
Can I use my camera?
Filming and photography are authorised in all areas accessible to visitors. Drones are not allowed. Photos should be strictly for private use. If this is not the case, please contact the museum press office.
Can I smoke inside the Museum?
Like all public areas in the canton of Vaud, the Museum and the TOM Café are non-smoking venues.
Can I bring my bike, scooter, skateboard or rollerblades with me?
Bikes, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades must remain outside the Museum. Parking for bikes is available at the north and south entrances to Olympic Park.
