Renzo Minoli won all his international medals in team épée. In addition to his Olympic gold and silver medals, he was unofficial World Champion in 1931 and 1933 and second in 1930. In 1925 he won the Italian title in individual épée. In 1927, while a student of the University of Pavia, Minoli took double gold at the Universiad, winning in both individual and team épée, and in 1928 and 1930, won gold in team épée and silver in the individual.
