경력

Clyde Scott of the University of Arkansas beat Bill Porter to take the 1948 NCAA 110m hurdles, but Porter won all their subsequent meetings that year, including the Olympic final. Scott graduated from Arkansas in 1949 with a degree in business.

Scott also played football at Arkansas and was drafted in the first round of the 1949 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Scott played for four years in the NFL, 3½ with the Eagles, and part of his final season with the Detroit Lions. He was a running back and defensive back who appeared in 28 career games. He later became a life insurance agent.
