Antoine Dupont is widely regarded as the face of the French national rugby team. Despite being recognised as one of the finest players of the 15-a-side game, the French captain avoids the spotlight and is known for his quiet strength.
At 27, his career has already been marked by several remarkable accomplishments, including winning the prestigious World Player of the Year title in 2021.
Dupont was born on November 15, 1996, in Castelnau-Magnoac, a small town in southern France near the Spanish border. He started playing rugby at five at his hometown club and showed early potential. At 15, he joined the prestigious Auch youth programme, where he continued developing his skills and talents.
Later, he joined the famous first division team and Pro 14 side Castres, where he became one of the league's standout players. In 2017, he moved to the prestigious French club, Stade Toulousain, where he won three Top 14 titles and the highly sought-after European Champions Cup with the team in 2021.
